2B8 R&D Marine Boat Engine Damper Drive Plate
Fitted between the boat engine and the gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D Damper Drive plates include a 'failsafe' design.
Also called the Driven Plate, Damper Plate or Clutch Plate, the 2B8 Damper Drive Plate is from the R and D Loop element range. Common applications for the 2B8 drive plate include small marine engines up to approximately 45 bhp depending on application.
R&D damper plate technical details:
- Spline: 26 teeth 20/40 DP (35.4mm diameter) for Borgwarner 70, 71, 72 C Velvet Drive gearboxes, PRM inline gearboxes, TMP, Paragon and Twin Disc Boxes, ZF Hurth HSW gearboxes and some Volvo Saildrive legs.
- Diameter of drive plate back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 298.5mm (11.75")
- Back plate fixing holes: multi-punched offering the following fixing holes arrangement 6 x 8.1mm on 200mm PCD, 6 x 8.1mm on 250mm PCD, 6 x 8.1mm on 269.9mm PCD, 6 x 8.1mm on 273mm PCD.
- Drive plate maximum thickness: 32mm (1.25")
Fitted with a type B loop element for 135Nm 100 ft lb torque, the 2B8 drive plate can be mounted either round on the flywheel and rotated in either direction. This drive plate element will provide linear stiffness up to 3 degrees of deflection and is failsafe.
