Scout KS-30F fibreglass antenna is tuned to AIS frequencies and designed specifically for sailing boat automated tracking systems. The marine antenna is extremely light, flexible and weather resistant.
It has a 90cm long, 1.4mm thick fibreglass whip which is foam injected and 100% waterproof.
The 3db fibreglass antenna comes with a heavy duty 3mm thick electropolished stainless steel bracket for secure masthead installation, and a SO 239 connector to complete the installation.

AIS stands for Automatic Identification System, which is an automated tracking system used on ships and by Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) for identifying and locating vessels by electronically exchanging data with other nearby ships and VTS stations. AIS transponders use two different frequencies; VHF maritime channels 87B (161.975 MHz) and 88B (162.025 MHz).
